A-
A grand bourgeois middle-aged doctor (Charles Berling) gets a surprise visit from the elderly father (Michel Bouquet) who walked out on his family years ago, and the old ways of coping with rage by keeping a distance no longer work. The murder in this exquisite French character study, while only metaphorical, is nonetheless shocking in the quietest, most well-mannered of ways. Natacha Regnier plays a regal-looking trophy wife.
