All About
Paul McCartneyPaul McCartney will release a Beatles track unheard for 35 years, according to London's Sunday Times. The paper says it will be used as the soundtrack to a film montage of McCartney's late wife Linda's photographs.
''Carnival of Light,'' the 14-minute track, was recorded at the same time as ''Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band,'' and was last played at a London avant-garde festival in 1967.
The paper quoted Beatles producer George Martin as saying: ''It was one of those weird things. It was a kind of uncomposed, free-for-all melange of sound that went on. It was not considered worthy as issuing as a normal piece of Beatles music at the time.''
