You knew ''American Idol'' finalist Tamyra Gray could sing, but did you know she can act? The folks at Fox think so. The network that saw her finish fourth on ''Idol'' this summer is in talks to bring her back, this time on ''Boston Public,'' according to Variety. The deal isn't final yet, but Variety reports she could be appearing on a multi-episode arc of the high school drama as early as November.
Gray, whose ejection from the talent contest was seen by many fans (and judge Simon Cowell) as an upset, will also be doing plenty of singing in the near future. ''Idol'' producer Simon Fuller's 19 Entertainment has exercised its option to manage her and get her a record deal. This week, she's in Las Vegas with the other nine ''Idol'' finalists taping a concert special for Fox, which will air Monday. The final 10 will then launch a nationwide concert tour on Oct. 9 in San Diego.
