Rolling Stones plan live HBO concert. Viewers can get their ''Licks'' in when the band plays Madison Square Garden in January

The Rolling Stones have been playing venues of all sizes on their current tour, from arenas to clubs. But their smallest venue on the tour may be your living room. HBO subscribers will get to see the band perform live from New York's Madison Square Garden on Jan. 18, according to a statement Wednesday by HBO. The event will reportedly mark the first live television concert in the band's 40-year history.

The ''Licks'' tour, which brings the veteran rockers to Philadelphia this weekend, will be winding down its North American leg by the time of the HBO date. Tickets for that show, priced from $50 to $350, sold out so quickly that the group added another date at the Garden on Jan. 17. The band's ''Forty Licks'' CD, a summation of their four-decade career that also contains four new tracks, hits stores Oct. 1.
