Will you and Tionne record another album together as TLC?
No, that's not a TLC record, then -- it's just me and T-Boz. I would say [''3-D''] is the last TLC album.
How about recording together under a new name?
We'll have to cross that bridge when we come to it. I'm just trying to get myself together to deal with this one. I've accepted that it's going to be emotional, and that's okay. Because that's our sister and we can't call her no more, we can't cuss at her no more, we can't do any of those things.
It was pretty emotional when you guys appeared at the VMAs...
I tried to keep myself together, but I started breaking down right before I went on stage. That was hard, especially walking out there and she's not there. I was for real when I said, ''This is a reality check.'' Any other time, like when we went into the studio to work, I could psyche myself out, like she's not here yet, or she just left.. But [at the VMAs], it's like, she's really not here.
Will the album have any songs that directly address Lisa's loss?
Outside of the entire CD being a tribute to her, there's this song called ''Turntable'' that Rodney Jerkins did. That song reminds me so much of Lisa. It's basically talking about when things go bad, watch how the tables turn -- that after something bad there's always something good. For us, this is something we'll never get over, but there is light at the end of the tunnel, and that's basically what the song is saying. It's very touching and very moving. It really reminds me of ''Waterfalls.'' It's the song that everybody will be able to relate to.
But overall, is this a happy album?
We wanted everybody's memory of our group to be how we really are, which is fun, crazy. We're practical jokers... and we love each other, point blank. It's a fun, fun record.
