Can't wait one more moment for more hobbit footage? Worried about how you'll make it until ''The Lord of the Rings: The Two Towers'' is released on Dec. 18? Middle-earthlings, at least those who subscribe to America Online, can take comfort in knowing that the trailer for the eagerly-awaited sequel will make its debut on the online service on Sept. 30. The clip montage will be available for downloading on AOL for 24 hours beginning Monday at 12:01 a.m. ET.

What can fans expect to glimpse from the second installment in the ''Rings'' trilogy? Watch for new characters, such as Princess Eowyn (played by Miranda Otto), as well as battle scenes from the siege at Helms Deep, and more of the creature Gollum (voiced by Andy Serkis), who was barely glimpsed in ''The Fellowship of the Ring'' but whose new scenes have already earned praise for the caliber of their CGI work. After its 24-hour window on AOL (synergy alert: AOL, ''Rings'' distributor New Line Cinema, and EW.com are all AOL Time Warner companies), the trailer will be available on the ''Lord of the Rings'' website.
