Seen any blind seventysomething pop stars on MTV lately? You soon may. The Blind Boys of Alabama recently filmed their first video, for their version of Stevie Wonder's ''Higher Ground.'' Veteran director Steve Hanft (Beck) shot the clip, whose concept is a surreal elevator ride, in L.A. ''They go to a gospel church and a blues club,'' says Hanft, ''and it ends with them on a rooftop, reaching the higher ground.'' The Boys have collaborated with Peter Gabriel, Lou Reed, and Solomon Burke (the Hives' Pelle Almqvist has also expressed interest). Says Clarence Fountain of his group's busy schedule: ''It ain't nothin' but somethin' to do. Always keep busy and your mind won't have to be wonderin' about this and wonderin' about that.'' Amen, brother.
