Rolling With the Stones (2002)

Mick Jagger on the topic of U.S. tours: ''I don't want to come back and do any more of the rock 'n' roll spectacle kind of thing.'' That was 1968. Now, while Jagger is out milking nostalgia, Bill Wyman, the Rolling Stones' bassist from 1962 to 1993, has come forth with Rolling With the Stones, a comprehensive scrapbook that includes discographies, rare record sleeves, ultrasleazy posters, endless iterations of the band's labial logo, precise accounts of gross behavior and gross receipts, pictures of top-tier groupies, and a snapshot of the Chelsea Drugstore, where Mick went down to get a prescription filled. ''Rolling With the Stones'' is hideously cluttered and, as a memoir, slightly fuzzy, but considered as a Stones document, it rocks very hard.
