Rosie O'Donnell has joked that she hacked off her hair in homage to ex-Boy George backup singer Helen Terry. But her new coif seems to be channeling another ''boy'' -- the happy little mascot for the Big Boy restaurant chain. ''Big Boy is a universal guy, so his look lends itself to anyone,'' says Tony Michaels, CEO of the Michigan-based Big Boy Restaurants International. In fact, it's not the red-checker-wearing character's first brush with fame: The fiberglass figure that appears atop the chain's restaurants snagged screen time as Dr. Evil's rocket in the first two Austin Powers movies. ''The Boy has been around for 70 years,'' says Michaels. ''His look lasts.''
