Beyond Jolie's inexplicable, inappropriate, and insufferable blond-bombshell hair (does her TV news ''personality'' have a Marilyn Monroe obsession, or is she just trapped in the Reagan era?) lies a predictable and forced sugarcoated fairy tale. The life of a perfectly happy -- if tightly wound -- babe with everything changes, for the even better, after a prophetic bum (Tony Shalhoub) foresees her death. Heartbreaker Burns, who's appealingly honest as a lone-wolf, well-grounded single dad, is the only part of director Stephen Herek's to-thine-own-self-be-true parable that feels like real life or anything like it.
