Bob Kane may be best known for creating Batman, but he also gave birth to another caped crusader, a slightly more furry one named Courageous Cat. Along with his trusty sidekick Minute Mouse, the courageous one protected the citizens of Empire City...for one season, at least. But now animation enthusiasts can view all 130 of his televised adventures in A&E's new set Courageous Cat & Minute Mouse: The Complete Series. Sure, villains like Robber Rabbit, Phineus Fox, and Chauncey Frog may not pack quite the same punch as the Joker, Penguin, and Riddler, but there's still plenty of campy fun to be found in these five-minute morsels, starting right with the jazzy, ''Peter Gunn''-y theme song. Also, who needs a utility belt when you have a trusty Catgun (which acts as everything from a giant can opener to a ''cannonball interrupter'')? What keeps this collection from being truly super, however, is an almost complete lack of extras (unless you count such crowd-pleasers as ''interactive menus'' -- score!). Otherwise, it?s close to purrrrrrfect.
