FOXY BROWN
Premise Berry will step into Pam Grier's platform heels in the remake of the 1970s blaxploitation classic about a woman who avenges her boyfriend's murder.
EW.com says Who's foxier than Berry?

THE SET-UP
Source material A remake of the 1949 Robert Wise classic about a boxer who refuses to throw a fight
Premise Veteran director Sidney Lumet (''Dog Day Afternoon,'' ''100 Centre Street'') has cast Benjamin Bratt and James Gandolfini as the boxer and a casino manager involved in the scheme. Berry is in talks to play the fighter's girlfriend, with whom the Gandolfini character is also in love.
EW.com says Surely Berry, like Julia Roberts, is bigger than this ''Ocean's Eleven''-style girlfriend part, but this crew looks like a dream team.

NAPPILY EVER AFTER
Source material Trisha Thomas' novel
Premise The romantic comedy would star Berry as a woman who kicks her boyfriend to the curb after he drags his feet on marriage, only to pine for him when he starts seeing someone else.
EW.com says Can Berry do comedy? ''B.A.P.S'' doesn't give us a lot of hope.

OCTOBER SQUALL
Source material A script by novelist Jason Starr (''Hard Feelings,'' ''Tough Luck'') is based on a true story.
Premise Berry plays a woman who is impregnated by her rapist. She keeps and raises the child, only to fear that when he hits puberty, he'll turn out like his father.
EW.com says Berry proved she knows how to do the fierce-mom thing in ''Losing Isaiah'' and, of course, ''Monster's Ball.''
