Is former Miss America Vanessa Williams the Queen of All Media? She's enjoyed success as a pop singer (''Save the Best for Last''), movie actress (''Soul Food''), and Broadway star (''Kiss of the Spider Woman,'' ''Into the Woods''). About the only thing she hasn't tried is a TV sitcom, and she's about to do that. According to the Hollywood Reporter, she's developing a comedy for NBC in which she'll play a Broadway actress who returns to her small town, with her kids in tow, to raise her family and teach high school drama.

While Williams has earned acclaim as a pop singer and dramatic actress, her flair for comedy was largely untapped until she played a spoiled Scrooge-like singer in the VH1 movie ''A Diva's Christmas Carol'' two years ago. Richard Schenkman, who wrote and directed that movie, will cowrite and coproduce Williams' sitcom project. Also cowriting is Adam Belanoff (''Titus''), so the show shouldn't be completely edge-free.
