Now that Ben Affleck is engaged to Jennifer Lopez, he'll have to make some money to keep her in the style to which she has become accustomed. Fortunately, it looks like he's about to pick up a big ''Paycheck.'' According to Variety, he's in talks with Paramount (the studio behind his ''Changing Lanes'' and ''The Sum of All Fears'') to star in the sci-fi thriller ''Paycheck'' for director John Woo.
The film is based on a 1953 story by Philip K. Dick, the author whose works have been adapted into such movies as ''Minority Report,'' ''Total Recall,'' and ''Blade Runner.'' Like many Dick tales, this one deals with manipulation of memory. Affleck would play an electrician who uncovers a two-year gap in his memory, and in trying to put the pieces back together, he stumbles onto a conspiracy. According to the Hollywood Reporter, Woo wants to shoot the film in February, but rumor has it that Affleck and his fiancée will be a little busy that month.
