Q In 8 Mile's Detroit of 1995, Eminem's movie mom Kim Basinger wins $3,200 at bingo. Would such a big pot have been possible?
A Don't bet on it. Mark Bentley of the Michigan Lottery says that pre-2000, the maximum weekly bingo payout was $2,000. And Basinger would have had to yell ''bingo!'' at least four times, since the maximum single-game pot allowed by the old law was $500. Although bingo laws are more liberal these days, the odds that Basinger could've walked away with more than a couple hundred bucks in '95 are, well, slim -- and shady.
