It's one way to announce a wedding: 14.9 million gossipmongers tuned in to see J. Lo flash the ring and spill the beans to Diane Sawyer on ABC's Primetime special (18th). The ''news'' hour beat Law & Order (10th) among adults 18-49 and helped ABC come closer to tying with second-place CBS in that demo for sweeps. Stunts are working wonders for NBC: Carol's non-wedding on underdog Ed (31st) drew a season-high audience of 12.6 million; Niles' illness on Frasier (11th) took the oomph out of ABC's Life With Bonnie (62nd), which hit a series low; and the reunion pic Hunter: Return to Justice (47th) attracted 10.5 million Fred Dryer fans, trouncing Fox's America's Most Wanted (73rd). An appearance by David Schwimmer didn't boost The WB's JKX: The Jamie Kennedy Experiment (115th), which slipped slightly in viewers from last week.
