Disney's Treasure Planet

ADVENTURE

(PS2; Sony; Everyone) When playing Planet -- based on the upcoming animated film -- you can't help but feel like it's a tribute to great games of yesteryear: You must collect gold coins, Mario-style; jump between lanes of traffic, a la Frogger; and even perform tricks on a solar surfboard, just like Tony Hawk. This keeps things interesting while you traverse the universe as Jim Hawkins, a teen in search of some legendary loot. While the on-foot levels are forgettable, the surfer-race segments make this one of the better Disney adaptations. Planet is a decent game with a few (buried) treasures.
