As our titular heroine (Davis, who also wrote and directed) says in what could be called Sex and the Kissing Amy Mandell's Diary, she's a cute, Jewish, Ivy League-educated author of a self-help best-seller that assures women they don't need men. But (the irony!) Ms. A wants a man anyway. And when she gets one (Chinlund), she comes to the life-changing realization that women really do need men to feel complete. Guess her lesbian publicist (Caroline Aaron) slipped her mind.
