Scenes from a yuppie New York marriage: Mom (The Sopranos' de Matteo) and Dad (Brancato) videotape their little girl's holiday pageant, take her shopping, then leave her with the nanny before heading uptown to their wholesale drug business. There's mordant irony in the way this couple frets over dope dealers and Christmas gifts, but director Abel Ferrara never truly explores their double life. His impressionistic take on urban ills and family values makes you wonder what was left on the cutting-room floor.
