Julia Roberts

Tom Hanks has shoved aside Julia Roberts as the nation's most loved movie star, according to poll results released Monday. Roberts slipped from No. 1 to No. 3, behind Mel Gibson, according to a press release from Harris Interactive, which polls Americans on their favorite movie stars each year. Roberts' biggest 2002 role was in the flop ''Full Frontal,'' which may account for her drop in the poll of 2,221 adults.

Harrison Ford held the fourth position, while his ''Indiana Jones'' dad, Sean Connery, was No. 5. The rest of the top 10 included the late John Wayne (No. 6), Entertainment Weekly's Entertainer of the Year Denzel Washington (No. 7), Clint Eastwood (No. 8), Tom Cruise (No. 9), and Sandra Bullock (No. 10). Robin Williams is the sole star to drop off the list from last year, perhaps due to his recent penchant for portraying sociopaths.
