Twain's Reign

Shania rules the album chart for the fifth week. Twain, Eminem, Avril Lavigne, and J. Lo see Christmas sales boosts

Shania Twain's ''Up!'', with its something-for-everyone versions of each track, continued to be the populist choice, especially for holiday shoppers. The record continued its five-week reign on top of the Billboard album chart, selling another 455,825 copies, according to SoundScan, some 82,000 more than last week. In fact, several albums enjoyed a holiday sales boost. Eminem's ''8 Mile'' soundtrack rose three spots to No. 2 and moves another 405,350 units, up more than 133,000 from the week before. Dixie Chicks' ''Home'' landed at No. 3 while selling another 400,850 discs. Avril Lavigne climbed to No. 4 and sold another 363,250 copies of ''Let Go.'' Jennifer Lopez climbed three spots to No. 5, with ''This Is Me...Then'' selling another 345,150 CDs and passing the 1 million mark overall.

Other top stocking stuffers included Tim McGraw's ''Tim McGraw and the Dancehall Doctors'' (No. 6), hits compilation ''NOW That's What I Call Music! Vol. 11'' (No. 7), Justin Timberlake's ''Justified'' (No. 8), Faith Hill's ''Cry'' (No. 9), and Christina Aguilera's ''Stripped'' (No. 10).
