Diana Ross is arrested on charges of ''extreme'' DUI -- Arizona police say her blood alcohol level was more than twice the legal limit

Diana Ross submitted to a traffic stop and was cited for investigation of driving under the influence, according to wire service reports. Tuscon, Ariz., police spokesperson Sgt. Judy Altieri told the Associated Press that the police pulled over the former Supreme early Monday morning after receiving reports of a swerving vehicle.

A breath test revealed a blood alcohol level of 0.20 percent, more than twice the state's legal limit of 0.08 percent, Altieri said. Police gave the singer misdemeanor citations for driving under the influence, driving with a blood alcohol level of over 0.08 percent, and ''extreme DUI,'' driving with a blood alcohol level of over .0.15 percent.

The spokesman for the 58-year-old singer, Paul Bloch, had no immediate comment. In May, Ross checked herself into Promises, the famed Malibu rehab clinic; at that time, Bloch issued a statement saying ''Diana Ross voluntarily entered Promises to clear up some personal issues.'' She faces a court date in Tuscon on Jan. 13.
