Despite the messy way Justin Timberlake and Britney Spears' breakup played out in public -- and continues to do so, if Timberlake's new video is any gauge -- the 'N Sync heartthrob says he still carries a torch for his fellow former Mouseketeer. ''I may not ever get over her,'' he tells Rolling Stone magazine. ''I really do still love that girl.''
That assertion seems to counter the ''Cry Me a River'' video, where Timberlake tapes a tryst with a woman, then makes sure a Britney lookalike sees the video. In an interview in the current Vibe magazine, Timberlike declines to say whether the video is a dig at Spears, though he does blame the breakup on her, saying. ''I don't feel like I'm saying too much by saying she knows why this happened. Britney's a fire sign, a Sagittarius, they do things on a whim.'' Still, he says, he should have noticed that something was wrong. ''I feel I became so consumed with her that I didn't see some things that I should have seen.''
Elsewhere in the Rolling Stone story, Timberlake says that the far-flung members of 'N Sync will reunite to record an album next year. The story also quotes his mother, Lynn Harless, as saying that she feels uncomfortable whenever Timberlake tries to discuss his sex life with her. We know how you feel, Lynn.
