Has playing a traditional 1950s housewife in two films this season, ''Far From Heaven'' and ''The Hours,'' rubbed off on Julianne Moore? After cohabitating for six and a half years with director Bart Freundlich and bearing him two children, Moore and Freundlich plan to make it official and get married, People.com reports. ''They are engaged,'' says a source close to the couple. No word on when they'll actually tie the knot.

Moore, 42, met Freundlich, 32, when he cast her in 1997's ''The Myth of Fingerprints.'' In an Entertainment Weekly interview in November, she recalled the shoot, saying, ''We started to see each other about two weeks into it. It was casual. I don't think either of us was thinking that we were going to have two children!'' They have a son, Cal, 5, and a daughter, Liv, 9 months.
