An imposing singer with a gruff voice, Saliva's Josey Scott nevertheless excels at getting mushy, like on ''Rest in Pieces.'' Those moments easily trump meatheaded ones like the jokey ''Superstar II,'' which he invests with Nugent-style arrogance, and ''Always,'' which boasts his heavy snarl. But his band's unsubtle wall of monster metal ensures they never stray too far from bombast.
