The hippest world-music label going, Honest Jon's (of London record-shop fame) creates book-CD combos equally suited to reading and dancing. These singles and instrumentals show no-name locals rocking mics over the toy-store electro-beats that marked reggae's transition into modern-day digital dancehall. Not the best of the era (see Barrington Levy), but a sweet, bouncy snapshot of a pungent regional scene.
