A sneak peek at ''Charlie's Angels: Full Throttle.'' The sequel to the Diaz-Barrymore-Liu hit features the return of Demi Moore, something about murdered federal witnesses -- and LOTS of bikini frolickingThat heavenly, hot-panted trio of detectives from ''Charlie's Angels'' -- Cameron Diaz, Drew Barrymore, and Lucy Liu -- is back to tackle...a sequel to the $125 million-grossing original. Seems the database for the Witness Protection Program has been swiped, and the relocatees are being murdered. The Angels are called in to battle creepy Crispin Glover (returning as the Thin Man) and ''fallen angel'' Demi Moore. But enough of that plot stuff!
Along with more of those technorhythmic kung fu moves, the film will feature girl-on-girl-on-girl motocross mayhem, zippy dance scenes, oh and blatant bathing-suit frolicking. ''Demi goes toe-to-toe with Cameron in a bikini,'' enthuses returning director McG. ''A very powerful woman who has three children, and being the best she can be. It's very inspiring.'' ''Charlie's Angels: Full Throttle'' (opening June 27) will, in fact, mark the 40-year-old Moore's first film since 2000's flop ''Passion of Mind.'' Barrymore, also a producer, persuaded the actress to sign on.
Another person who took her invite: Bernie Mac, who replaces Bill Murray as the Angels' new boss, Bosley's brother. (As the story goes, the Bosleys are African-American; Murray's character was adopted.) As for the rumors that on-set bickering led to Murray's departure: Ridiculous! ''Contrary to what everybody may think, we're all buddies with Bill,'' McG says. ''We just thought we'd keep the wheel turning. We made a point when we hired Lucy Liu, which was to say: Look, Angels aren't skinny white women. You can be any shape, any size, any ethnicity.'' But if you look hot in a bikini, all the better.
