Tiempo of Their Lives
''DIRTY DANCING'' GETS A CUBAN SPIN-OFFThe first thing ''Dirty Dancing'' fans need to know about the much-hyped spin-off from the 1987 cult classic is that Baby and Johnny don't reprise their roles. This time around, it's teenage lovers Katey (''Nicholas Nickleby'''s Romola Garai) and Javier (''Y Tu Mama Tambien'''s Diego Luna) who have the time of their lives salsa-dancing through the streets of 1959 Cuba. The second thing audiences need to know is that ''Havana Nights'' isn't a simple remake. ''It doesn't take place in the Catskills. It doesn't have an abortion issue, and it doesn't have the same sound,'' says producer Lawrence Bender (''Good Will Hunting''). The good news for hungry eyes is that Bender promises ''Nights'' will feature the sizzling dance moves that made ''Dirty Dancing'' a box office hit. ''There will be plenty of hot stuff going on,'' he promises -- as in PG-13 hot. (Nov. 21)
