Svelte supermodel Claudia Schiffer may not have been convincing as a restaurateur (remember the Fashion Café?) or a graduate student (in the 2000 film ''Black and White''). Now, however, she'll try a new real-life role: mom. The 32-year-old Schiffer gave birth to a 7-pound boy, by husband Matthew Vaughn, on Thursday at London's Portland Hospital. ''Both parents are utterly thrilled at the birth of their first child, and both mother and baby are doing very well," Schiffer's spokeswoman told Reuters. "The couple have yet to decide on a name for the baby but all are expected to return home in a few days.''
Schiffer married Vaughn, best known for producing director Guy Ritchie's movies (including ''Snatch'' and ''Swept Away''), last May. It was the first marriage for both. Before that, she was engaged for five years to magician David Copperfield.
