All About

Friends

The tabloid rumor of the week has it that Jennifer Aniston and Brad Pitt's two-and-a-half-year-old marriage has hit such a rocky patch (he has said that his desire to start a family will be delayed another year because of her new deal for a 10th season of ''Friends'') that the couple are now on their second marriage counselor (they dropped the first, recommended to them by Courteney Cox and David Arquette, after just one session, the rumor says). But Aniston and Pitt are united enough to go into the movie business together, as producers. Their unnamed production company, which also includes TV and movie producer Brad Grey and is based at Warner Bros., bought the remake rights this week to a Hong Kong action hit. Guess the couple that produces together may ultimately reproduce together.

The movie, called ''Infernal Affairs,'' was Hong Kong's top-grossing hit of 2002. It tells the story of dueling moles: a gangster who's infiltrates the police, and a cop who's infiltrates the Mob. The Aniston/Pitt/Grey team outbid several other Hollywood bigwigs, according to the Hollywood Reporter, ultimately securing the rights for $1.75 million. Pitt may even play the cop, Variety reports. No word yet on which celebrity might be the other mole.
