THE CHART

ZWAN IN A MILLION

With Kid Rock's Cocky rolling into its 15th month on the chart, and Avril Lavigne's Let Go holding on in the top 10 for 35 weeks, it's great to see some fresh mugs among the mainstays. Not that Billy Corgan is all that fresh, but he's got a new band, Zwan, and their debut disc, Mary Star of the Sea, sold 90,000 copies this week for a surprising No. 3 bow. Meanwhile, the Chicago soundtrack, at No. 6 in its third week, is adding a zippy dose of Zellweger, Zeta-Jones, and all that jazz. Despite the recent arrivals, Grammy-contending chart fixtures the Dixie Chicks and Norah Jones still managed to come away with the No. 1 and 2 slots.
