Whose reality slate is more gleefully exploitative, Fox or ABC? Fox has ''Joe Millionaire,'' ''Temptation Island,'' and ''Cops.'' ABC has ''I'm a Celebrity -- Get Me Out of Here!'', ''Are You Hot?'', and now, ''Love for Sale.'' Variety reports that ABC has picked up that last series for a six-episode run this summer. While the network is mum on the details of the show, competing TV programmers who heard the pitch have described it as a reality version of the movie ''Indecent Proposal.''
According to those executives, ''Love for Sale'' will offer couples an unspecified sum of money if one member agrees to spend several weeks with a member of the opposite sex. At least the show won't require the straying partner to sleep with the other person, à la Demi Moore and Robert Redford in the 1993 movie. But, as on ''Temptation Island,'' such behavior probably won't be discouraged.
The show is being produced by Renegade 83, the firm behind such syndicated dating shows as ''Blind Date'' and ''The 5th Wheel'' and such primetime reality fare as the WB's ''The Surreal Life'' and NBC's upcoming revival of ''Let's Make a Deal'' (premiering March 4).
