Politically Indirect

There are two sides to everything -- especially the tongues of celebrities. As our left-brained war room officials deploy troops, our (predominantly) right-brained pop culture generals have been dropping a few bombs of their own. But, not unlike their blood brothers and sisters in politics, stars love to play both sides of the issue. Let's take a look at a couple of examples. -- Scott Brown

ON THE ONE HAND ''I am not anti-Bush.''

ON THE OTHER ''I am pro-peace. I have written a song [''American Life''] and created a video which expresses my feelings about our culture and values and the illusions of what many people believe is the American dream....and that's how I honor my country.''

ON THE OTHER ''I don't even understand why we've taken nuclear weapons off the table....I think you've got to pick a day where there's no wind, in a desolate part of the earth, just blow off a bomb just to let them know we're sitting on a nice hold card, okay?''
