Britney SpearsBritney Spears is fuming over a tabloid report accusing her of ingesting coke -- and not the kind that would have compromised her status as a Pepsi pitchwoman. She's denying a report in the Star that quotes an unidentified member of her entourage as saying she was snorting cocaine at Miami's Crobar Club. According to the source, she tooted a line off the top of a toilet in the VIP bathroom, then asked a pal to ''check me, check me,'' to make sure there was no trace of white on her nostrils. ''There is absolutely no truth to this story whatsoever,'' said Spears publicist Nathalie Moar in a statement. ''Lawyers for Miss Spears are filing a defamation suit as we speak.''
The Star story says that there were other incidents, including one at a Los Angeles club in which Spears kept disappearing into the bathroom every 20 minutes with an unnamed movie star. ''They stayed in there for at least 15 minutes, but I didn't know if they were doing drugs or having sex or what,'' a source said. ''The only one who's guilty of doing cocaine has to be the source of this story,'' said Dan Klores, another Britney publicist, in a statement. A spokesman for the Star says the tabloid ''stands by its story, which had multiple sources and was thoroughly vetted.''
