L2T On The Road: Portland, Ore. 2ND AVENUE RECORDS Since the fall of 1982, John McNally's passion for song has manifested into one of Portland's most eclectic music emporiums. Prizing diversity in both genre (he claims his was the first store in Portland to sell rap) and era, the enthusiastic owner allocates 50 percent of his space for vinyl. McNally is over the moon for James Booker's double live CD, currently holding the No. 10 spot on 2nd Avenue's best-seller list. He considers the blues pianist to be in the company of the Beatles and Chuck Berry in the ''holy trinity of modern music.'' Interesting opinion, just don't tell Little Richard. -- KR
