Details Release Date: Mar 04, 2003; Lead Performance: Hank Locklin

With his doughy plain looks and refusal to move from his home base of Florida to Nashville, no way was Locklin going to become a big star, but the man certainly knew how to redeem hokum with heart and heartiness. Ballads like ''Send Me the Pillow That You Dream On'' (from 1958) and ''Please Help Me, I'm Falling'' (1960) reveal a sucker for love who made beautiful music out of being jilted.
