''Traffic'' screenwriter Stephen Gaghan's directorial debut will never be mistaken for an award winner. Bratt plays an obligatorily alcoholic detective who becomes obsessed with an overachieving, intense college senior (Holmes) after he starts poking into the mysterious disappearance of her former boyfriend. Despite some occasionally sharp dialogue and a fierce performance from Holmes, there's little suspense to be found among all the predictability. Abandon all hope, ye who press play.
