Who says France and the U.S. can’t get along? ''The Matrix: Reloaded'' will be making its premiere at the 56th Cannes Film Festival on May 15, the second day of the festival and the same day the film bows in theaters worldwide. According to the film fest’s official website, members of the cast (which includes Keanu Reeves, Carrie-Anne Moss, Laurence Fishburne, and Jada Pinkett Smith) and the filmmakers will be in attendance, though no word on which stars will be putting their best foot forward on the rouge carpet.
Festival promoters haven't announced at what time the film will premiere, but there’s a chance that Cannes filmgoers won't be the first to see the eagerly awaited follow-up to 1999’s ''The Matrix.'' Even with French clocks being several hours ahead of those in the States, fans are likely to be lined up around the block to see post-midnight screenings of the movie if they're available. Leave it to those pesky Americans to rush into things.
