OLD FEET Longtime couple Spencer and Crowe tie the knot

After 13 years, Danielle Spencer finally made an honest man out of Russell Crowe. The ''Gladiator'' star's much-publicized wedding took place as scheduled at sunset on Monday, April 7, the Oscar winner's 39th birthday, at his ranch in New South Wales, Australia. It's the first marriage for both Crowe and Spencer, 32.

The nuptials capped a weekend of festivities at Crowe's ranch, near Coffs Harbor, a seaside resort town halfway between Sydney and Brisbane. According to details of the event released by Crowe's publicist, the 80 or so guests (who included ''Gladiator'' director Ridley Scott but apparently no other Hollywood names) enjoyed a weekend of live music and intra-family cricket matches. The ceremony took place in a chapel on the ranch grounds, with balloon-borne lights illuminating the property. Press helicopters hovered overhead, Crowe having failed in his bid to get authorities to keep the airspace clear over his land. The couple wore custom-designed finery by Giorgio Armani, who was a wedding guest.

Crowe and actress/singer Spencer met on the set of the 1990 Australian film ''The Crossing,'' where they played boyfriend and girlfriend. Since then, they've had an on-again-off-again relationship, most notably off during Crowe's fling with Meg Ryan on the set of 2000's ''Proof of Life.'' But the couple reconciled soon after that, and by last December, they were engaged.
