Where do we begin? Hmmm. The sweetly pained vocals sound darn similar to Beth Orton's. The guitars, at times, like Orton's, are strummy and acoustic -- when they are not Sonic Youth-like walls of sound (''Let a Good Thing Go'') or My Bloody Valentine-tinged drones (''Lucky One''). Radioheadlike computer twitters and wispy ballads give way to driving bass. Hmmm. There might just be too much character to characterize.
