Love Letter

Courtney Love advertises for band members. The singer, working on her first solo album, is looking for attractive female musicians only

If you're female, can ''really play'' bass or guitar, and happen to look like a ''goddess,'' then Courtney Love wants you. As she finishes her first solo album, the former Hole frontwoman has placed a full-page ad in New York's Village Voice and other papers looking for band members. "Women wanted for International Rock Revolution. Join Courtney Love's touring band and get famous, see the world," the ad says.

In the ad, Love specifies that ''no boys'' are allowed, and advises prospective bass players that they should admire Red Hot Chili Peppers' bassist Flea, but not actually emulate his slap-and-pop style. Love is currently negotiating a new label deal, and is scheduled to play concerts in late summer. Those who meet her criteria can send videotapes to: P.O. Box C238, New York, N.Y. 10011, or call (212) 802-7269. Good luck.
