Two rulers of the French pop-culture kingdom admire each other's crowns in this autumnal film about a bank robber (grizzled rock & roll star Johnny Hallyday) and a retired schoolteacher (durable leading man Jean Rochefort) in a small town. Patrice Leconte's ingratiating drama feels cloyingly predetermined at times, but seeing Hallyday and Rochefort luxuriate in their contrasting personas is a kick.
