In the Schwartzman household, the California power-pop acorn doesn't fall far from the brotherly tree. (Of course, if you look at Jason of Phantom Planet and Rushmore fame and younger brother Robert Carmine, frontman for Rooney -- it doesn't have all that far to go.) Like Planet's, this album is light on substance, but full of good hooks and Weezeresque melodies that beg for mindless beachside toe tapping.
