Thank goodness we have chicks-who-kick-butt shows by which to measure our feminist progress. When Charlie's Angels premiered in 1976, the idea was groundbreaking: Three babes fight crime with (a very loose form of) martial arts and (the occasional use of) guns. So what if hair flips and bikinis were the weapons they used most often? The gratingly repetitive theme song and plots make it tough to watch several episodes in one sitting. And the DVDs' only extra of note is an ''Angels Forever'' documentary that reminisces a little, while poking fun at the series' overwhelming campiness. But the collection serves as a perfect time capsule; watch it after an episode of Alias and marvel at how far we've come.
