The 5 Year Plan

Joel Edgerton STARRING IN THE CRIME THRILLER 'THE HARD WORD'

5 YEARS AGO ''I was a bellboy, and I also doubled as a valet and a doorman. I didn't like the job at all -- it was a survival job for me. I wasn't trying to climb the hospitality ladder in any way.... And Australia's not huge on tipping.''

NOW ''In The Hard Word, I play the youngest of three brothers in and out of jail -- he runs the prison gym. I read the script and it said everyone calls this guy Muscles. So I said, Okay, I guess that means I've got to go to the gym.''

5 YEARS FROM NOW ''I've got a production company with my brother [stuntman Nash Edgerton], and I'd like to make our first film. Also, ballooning over the Valley of the Kings in Egypt. That's pretty attainable.''
