Last Comic Standing

NBC · Tuesdays, 9 p.m. This show, hosted by ''Saturday Night Live'' alum Jay Mohr (who is also an executive producer), combines the backstabbing of ''Survivor'' with the yuks of a comedy club, though the contestants do get to shower and brush their teeth and they won't have to eat larvae. Consider it an attempt to bring some good karma to reality TV. ''In watching numerous reality shows, I realized that the people most deserving of at least 15 minutes of fame are comedians,'' Mohr has said. Now that the 10 best stand-up comics have been selected from cattle calls in New York, Houston, Chicago, and Atlanta, these semifinalists will move into a house together to compete for an NBC talent contract. And that's when the fun really starts, right? It could be a good thing (think ''The Real World,'' but with roomies who have personality and a sense of humor) or a bad thing (think 10 Pauly Shores under one roof).
