CONTROVERSIES

In the grand tradition of reality-show participants' sketchy pasts being disclosed midseason, June 9 thesmokinggun.com claimed that NBC's For Love or Money hunk Rob Campos, 33, drunkenly fondled a female Navy officer in 1999. Citing his honorable discharge from the military, Campos apologized for not revealing the incident to NBC, saying the matter had been resolved privately. NBC will air Money's four remaining episodes, which were already in the can -- following in that other grand tradition of networks not caring about certain reality-show participants' sketchy pasts.

WEDDINGS

After an on-again, off-again engagement, actor-writer-director Edward Burns (Ash Wednesday), 35, and supermodel Christy Turlington (left), 34, wed in San Francisco June 7.... Her heart goes on: Actress Kate Winslet, 28, married Oscar-winning director Sam Mendes (American Beauty), 38, while on a Caribbean vacation in late May. It's Mendes' first marriage; Winslet split from assistant director Jim Threapleton in 2001.

COURTS

Ozzy Osbourne, 54, and Sharon Osbourne, 50, sued September Films in London on April 15 for more than £50,000, claiming the company authorized a broadcast of a short documentary about the MTV stars without their consent. September did not respond by press time.... Martha Stewart (left), 61, pleaded not guilty June 4 to charges of conspiracy, obstruction of justice, and securities fraud stemming from her stock-trading scandal. She resigned as chairman-CEO of her company, but remains on its board.

DEATHS

Australian actor Trevor Goddard, 37, Mic Brumby on CBS' JAG, was found dead in his North Hollywood home June 8. The coroner's office is investigating the death as a possible suicide by drug overdose. Goddard has a small role in July's Pirates of the Caribbean.... Character actor Sydney Lassick, 80, in L.A., April 12, after battling diabetes-related health problems. The WWII Navy vet is best remembered as asylum resident Cheswick, who demanded cigarettes from Nurse Ratched in 1975's One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest (right).... A North Carolina man was electrocuted at a Snoop Dogg and Red Hot Chili Peppers concert at Charlotte's Verizon Wireless Amphitheatre on June 6. Police say Ashley Faris, 26, was barefoot on a metal-edged stairwell, and have ruled it an accident; state OSHA officials and the arena are investigating. Reps for Snoop and the Chili Peppers had no comment.... Actor Lionel Wilson, 79, who voiced the characters in Captain Kangaroo's Tom Terrific segments, of pneumonia, in NYC, April 30.... Actress Andrea King, 84, reportedly of natural causes, in Woodland Hills, Calif., on April 22. King played opposite such actors as Peter Lorre (1946's The Beast With Five Fingers) and Bob Hope (1951's The Lemon Drop Kid).... Pro wrestler Freddie Blassie, 85, of heart failure, June 2, in Valhalla, N.Y. The villain of wrestling's golden age in the '50s and '60s, he later managed the wrestling careers of Jesse Ventura and Hulk Hogan, and starred with Andy Kaufman in the 1983 film spoof My Breakfast With Blassie.
