Prince, the pint-sized pop star with royal attitude, is releasing ''N.E.W.S.,'' an album of four new songs, exclusively to members of his NPG Music Club on June 19. The four tracks, titled ''North,'' ''East,'' ''West,'' and ''South,'' are each reported to clock in at an epic 14 minutes long.
Only fans who have paid for a $25 annual membership will be able to purchase the disc, as well as preview video clips from the forthcoming ''Prince LIVE at the Aladdin Las Vegas'' DVD, which will be released in the fall.
''N.E.W.S.'' is Prince's first album since ''The Rainbow Children'' in 2001. Alternative delivery methods are nothing new to the Purple One, who has self-released all material on the NPG label since ending his litigious relationship with Warner Bros. seven years ago.
