Turns out that star Rob Campos isn't the only personality on ''For Love or Money'' to have a hidden past of alcohol-related legal trouble. Paige Jones, who, after Monday's episode, was one of four remaining golddiggers -- er, finalists -- has her own booze-fueled closet skeleton, according to court documents unearthed by The Smoking Gun. Two years ago, when she was 19, she was busted for driving while intoxicated, and her license was suspended. Months later, she was caught driving with that suspended license and was sentenced to three days in jail and fined $500.
According to The Smoking Gun, which has posted Jones' mugshots and police reports, the 19-year-old ran a Dallas highway tollbooth in a Honda with a flat tire in February 2001. When police pulled her over and asked if she'd been drinking, she said, ''A whole lot.'' Police said she failed several field sobriety tests and was found to have a fake ID that she said she had used to ''buy drinks at several bars.'' She was hit with a misdemeanor charge of driving while intoxicated and received a suspended sentence of 90 days in jail, plus two years of probation, 80 hours of community service, a $400 fine, and an alcohol education program. In July 2001, she was arrested in Ellis County, Texas, on the misdemeanor charge of driving with the suspended license.
Campos, 33, has made much of the 12-year age difference between himself and Jones, though age has not made him any better at holding his liquor. Last week, The Smoking Gun revealed that he'd kept from NBC the fact that his career as a lawyer for the Marines had been derailed by a drunken incident in which he'd allegedly groped a naval officer and thrown up in her bathroom. The Dallas law firm where he'd freelanced subsequently let him go after learning of the military incident and watching the episode of ''For Love'' in which he'd drunkenly groped several of the contestants in the hot tub. Of the bachelorettes, Jones seemed the least put-off by his antics. Guess she knows where he's coming from.
