Release Date: May 20, 2003; Lead Performance: Pernice Brothers

Ex-Scud Mountain Boy (and principal Pernice brother) Joe Pernice dials down the Pet Sounds fetish and dials up the energy on his band's third album, without losing the tuneful wit that distinguished earlier, more polished efforts. Recorded in a Vermont summer house, Yours Mine & Ours has an easygoing vibe that gives Pernice's literate folk-pop ample room to roam. Bonus: ''Baby in Two'' references both King Solomon and David Essex's ''Rock On'' without mentioning either, which, if you've tried to do it, isn't easy.
